Here are our top things to do while in Grande Prairie (in no particular order):
Grande Prairie Mall
The biggest retail centre in the city it is the only mall in town but comes full stocked with some of the major retail shops you’d expect to see in most major cities. The mall has tons of retail stores but also is equipped with a large food court and at one point was even home to a movie theatre. Since then the movie theatre has been removed but the Grande Prairie shopping centre is recently opened a new extension featuring major retails like Winners, Marshells and more.
Grande Prairie Country Club
One of three golf courses located around the city limits of Grande Prairie, the Country Club is the oldest in the city and located in the south east of city limits. The course is masterfully crafted and features many beautiful and scenic holes with large trees and beautiful landscape. In the summertime the clubhouse is one of the cities premier places to enjoy beverages or food on one of the largest and sunniest patios available in Grande Prairie.
Another popular golf course, the Dunes is further south then the country club but also provides a beautiful course layout complete with trees and greenery. This course provides a challenging layout that is easy to walk but also has the availability to use electric golf carts. It comes equipped with a driving range, putting green and clubhouse for dinner and drinks.
In the winter time Revolution Place is home to the Grande Prairie Storm but throughout the year it is also home to many of the cities entertainment events. Multiple concerts with big stars have taken place in Grande Prairie with almost all of them taking place within Revolution Place. If you consider yourself a big hockey fan be sure to come support the Grande Prairie Storm as they compete in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
New to the city lately is the Bear Creek Folk Festival which is a weekend event with multiple bands touring from all over. The event takes place at South Bear Creak and happens usually in August.
Grande Prairie Street Performers Festival
Every summer the city is home to the Street Performers festival which takes place right in the heart of Downtown Grande Prairie. The festival features many acts and varieties of all kinds of street performers for kids of all ages.
