Grande Prairie is home to an abundance of wonderful restaurants with a wide range of options that can meet your taste! Growing up in Grande Prairie we’ve seen a lot of restaurants come and go but even today there are some wonderful options to choose from no matter your preference. In no particular order here are some of our favourite Grande Prairie place to eat.

Paddrino’s Restaurant in Grande Prairie

One of, if not the best, Italian restaurants in town Paddrino’s almost seems like one of Grande Prairie’s best kept secrets…yet anyone who has eaten there always manages to find there way back. Whether you’re looking for a quaint romantic evening with your significant other or perhaps looking to entertain a group of people, it’s a safe assumption that you’ll be hard pressed to find anything on the menu you won’t like. Paddrino’s is tucked away in the Best Western Hotel on the Highway 2 bypass. You won’t want to miss it but be sure to call ahead and make reservations just in case it gets busy.

The Office

Another restaurant a little less known is situated within the Grande Prairie Inn. Known to locals as “The Office” it’s anything but as it’s often serving up impressive dishes and delicious wines to a more business professional styled crowd. Typically not a very large menu the Office provides something a little different then most restaurants in town. While Paddrino’s primarily serves Italian (and some Albertan) food the Office will be able to wet your taste buds with menu items ranging from a Maple Cidar pork chop to steamed mussels. Whether you’re new to Grande Prairie or a long time resident be sure to swing by to give the Office a try.

The Golden Star Restaurant

One of the longest standing restaurants we can remember the Golden Star has been the premiere place to enjoy a night out for Chinese Food. If you’re craving anything Chinese the Golden Star tends to have it on their menu as it’s one of the largest we’ve seen when it comes to ordering. You can dine in or take out in Grande Prairie but we highly encourage to check out the restaurant itself as it’s just a few steps away from the heart of downtown and provides a vibrant Chinese feel when dining. Highly recommended.

Grand Banks Seafood Market and Bistro

A newcomer to the city of Grande Prairie, Grand Banks was built with the Canadian East Coast in mind. Grande Prairie is home to a large amount of Eastern Canadians due to a growing need for employees in our energy sector. The one thing most seemed to be missing was a restaurant that provided fresh fish and seafood…well look no further. Grand Banks has signature dishes but also some variety with different specials depending on the time of season. If you’re looking for the freshest seafood in town look no further then here. Better yet if you are searching for fresh fish and seafood to cook at home in Grande Prairie you’ll be hard pressed to find a better option then Grand Banks.

Grains Bakery

While not a late night dinner establishment, Grains Bakery is best served at lunch. This small sit down and take out resturant has fresh baked bread daily as well as rotating lunch specials. Grains Bakery has an assortment of sandwiches and paninis as well as some of the freshest (and tastiest soups in town. If you have a sweet tooth you won’t be disappointed in stopping by as fresh baked deserts and treats are displayed vibrantly on a daily basis. For Grande Prairie residents be sure to visit Grains bakery where you can not only order in and take out but also buy fresh bread (and more) for your own kitchen on a daily basis.
